Single Jersey
Commonly preferred single jersey fabrics for clothing are flat knitted fabrics knitted with cotton or cotton-weighted blend yarns that can only be produced with round knitting machines. It is generally used in many apparel products such as T-shirts, jerseys, dresses, socks, tights and underwear.
Interlock
Interlock fabric, one of the most preferred fabric types in the textile world, is used as a strong alternative to cotton fabrics due to its structure. Interlock fabrics that can be used in many products such as underwear, winter clothes, summer clothes, sportswear, pajamas and medical dresses, meet with Akdem Textile quality.
Ribbed Knits
Ribbed fabric, which attracts attention with its comfortable use and has a flexible structure, is a type of fabric that is loved in the textile world. Ribbed fabrics used among clothing and medical materials provide flexibility due to their knitting properties. At the same time, the fabric, which can be used in both faces, has a high elasticity and bounce rate. The fabric obtained with knitting technique ensures that the cut edges are not folded, preserves the user’s body heat, keeps warm and prevents cold penetration.
Double Thread
Double thread fabrics are generally preferred for spring and autumn clothing because they have a thick structure. It is widely used in clothes like sweatshirts, hoodies, track suits, etc.
RL is produced on single plate round knitting machines with needle and lock arrays. Generally, it is formed by giving two different threads (ground thread and liner thread) to the same needle. Liner thread is generally thick, bulky and suitable for raising. It is beneficial for the thickness of the liner thread to be twice the thickness of the ground thread.
Triple Thread
Generally, first of the triple thread, which is the ground thread, forms the ground knitting, the second thread (liner thread) forms the surface, and the third binding thread makes the structure more robust and prevent the liner thread from appearing on the front of the fabric. These fabrics are heavy structured knitted fabrics. Triple thread fabrics can be produced from all kinds of threads like other fabrics, but the commonly used thread type is cotton/polyester blended thread.
It is used where double thread is prefered, in tracksuits and thick hosiery of coats. They are quite thick and soft compared to the double thread, and internal faces of some of them are flat without raising and some of them are raised, that is, piled. It is a round knit fabric that does not shrink when washed.
Polo Pique (Lacoste Fabric)
It is a type of knitted fabric with a special structure similar to honeycomb formed by lock and needle arrays, especially in single-plate knitting machines with loop and fang movements. Lacoste is a fabric widely used in tightly looped T-shirts and sports tops, usually made of mercerized cotton or polyester/cotton blend threads.
Lacoste fabrics, taking its name from the French company, which uses crocodile as coat of arms, spread throughout the sector. Known for their tennis shirts, these fabrics are also known as single-needle piqué. Lacoste fabrics are knitted with the RL fang knitting technique. This type of RL knitting is obtained by using loop and fang movements together in single plate knitting machines.
Velvet
Velvet is a dense fabric with a velvet structure. This fabric is difficult to mix with others, it always looks rich and noble. The material has longitudinal stripes covered with candy and a pleasant luster that occurs between rows when light moves. In appearance, the fabric looks like velvet, but there are marks on the cover as the fabric looks attractive and is more resistant to abrasion. From the inside, it looks like a canvas.
Velvet fabrics, which have a wide range of use, are not only preferred in clothes; It is also used in curtains, furniture and cushions.
